Darwin Green

Darwin Green is a highly respected mining executive and exploration geologist with more than 25 years of experience advancing gold and base metal projects across North America. He previously served as Founder, Director and CEO of HighGold Mining from 2019 until its acquisition by Contango ORE in 2024 and has served as Founder and Chairman of Onyx Gold since July 2023.  His experience reflects a disciplined, technically driven approach to discovery and a strong reputation for building high-quality teams and long-term value.

His career spans grass roots discovery through de-risking advanced projects, corporate development, and capital markets leadership across some of the continent’s most prolific mining jurisdictions.  In his past roles as VP Exploration, he has participated in the discovery and growth of mineral deposits within the US and Canada.  He holds a B.Sc. in Geology from the University of British Columbia and an M.Sc. in Economic Geology from Carleton University.

In addition to leading Mackay Gold & Silver, Darwin serves on the Boards of Onyx Gold Corp., Maple Gold Mines Ltd., and Contango Ore.
